While we firmly believe that money doesn't make the world go round, we recognize its undeniable importance in fueling the impactful work we strive to accomplish. Engaging in independent documentary photography is a capital-intensive endeavor, and we are committed to avoiding the limitations imposed by external publications and editorial decisions beyond our control. Our aim is to broaden the horizons of this project, allowing it to reach its full potential.

When we embarked on this journey in December 2022, we estimated that the comprehensive execution of our vision would require an investment of approximately $120,000. Phase One of Borders Cruzadas was successfully funded through a variety of sources, with generous contributions from grants provided by ArtWorks Projects and the prestigious recognition as Diane Dammeyer Fellows at Columbia College Chicago.

As we look ahead toward Phase Two, we need to raise an additional $50k to fully realize the project's next steps. This financial support is crucial for the continuation of our reporting efforts and collaborative documentary work, the launching of a targeted awareness-building campaign, and the activation of a mobile exhibit.

We need to raise $50k by September 1, 2024, to remain on target, ensuring that we can seamlessly proceed with our planned activities. We are confident that with the continued support of our community and potential backers, we can bring this project to fruition. We appreciate any assistance in helping us reach our financial goal.
